Meet Honda’s New Flagship Trail Bike, The 2026 CRF300F
Honda has introduced the CRF300F, its new flagship trail bike designed for off-road recreational riding. Available in October, the bike replaces the CRF250F and offers a compelling mix of new and improved features, covering everything from a more powerful engine to a redesigned side stand.
Most Capable Honda CRF-F Ever
“Honda has an unmatched track record of producing fun, approachable, durable trail bikes that make the thrill of off-road adventure in beautiful spaces accessible to riders of all ages and backgrounds,” says Colin Miller, American Honda’s public relations manager. “With the introduction of the new CRF300F—the most capable CRF-F model to date—those experiences are more attainable than ever, and we’re confident that this trail bike will be even more of a hit than its predecessor.”
Tap Into More Power
The CRF300F’s air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke 294cc engine provides 18% more displacement (44cc) than the CRF250F. Honda retained that bike’s Keihin electronically controlled fuel-injection system but upgraded the transmission to a 6-speed gearbox from five. According to Honda, the change provides a gear for every riding situation, from low-speed technical riding to dirt-road cruising.
To support the engine’s increased power, Honda equipped the bike with a new exhaust header and muffler featuring a larger internal diameter. An added oil cooler bolsters reliability in hot conditions and helps extend engine life. Honda also upgraded to clutch discs that use more heat-resistant material.
Improved Handling & Comfort
Riders will appreciate the CRF300F’s improved handling, feel, and comfort. These enhancements come thanks to the bike’s sturdy tubular steel frame and refinements like a revised engine hangar shape, a reshaped radiator and shrouds, and use of lightweight aluminum rather than steel for the rear suspension link and bottom triple clamp.
The Pro-Link rear suspension system has a single shock with 9.1 inches (231 millimeters) of travel. The front suspension’s conventional 41-mm Showa telescopic coil-spring fork has 9 in. (229 mm) of travel and new settings for better comfort and more resistance to bottoming.
Serious Styling
Honda complements the CRF300F’s performance upgrades with sleek, modern styling. The motorcycle boasts a bold red paint scheme and incorporates graphics inspired by the company’s CRF Performance lineup.
Functional design elements include rubber boots for the fork legs, a reshaped plastic skid plate to protect the oil line, nylon guards to shield the frame from the rider’s boots, and an adjustable front brake lever for different hand sizes. Additionally, the side panels now mount using screw fasteners rather than the previous grommet-based system for a more secure fit.
