Honda CB1000RR Motorcycles Return For 2025 In Standard & Fireblade SP Models
If you’re looking for a street-legal bike with serious racetrack chops, the 2025 Honda CBR1000RR or the even more capable 2025 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP may be what you’re looking for. Both bikes have a new TFT display, a throttle-by-wire system, and the Honda Selectable Torque Control system to suppress rear wheel slippage. The flagship Fireblade SP returns after a 1-year hiatus with multiple improvements.
Rule The Road
The Fireblade SP, released in 2021, is a street-legal burner. Honda says its components and tech have contributed to the bike’s consistent MotoAmerica Stock 1000 superbike race wins.
Boasting a flashy Grand Prix Red color scheme, the bike features a new riding position that gives riders more freedom and control. It also has a longer swingarm for better track traction, more forward-set winglets, and a shorter engine that enhances the bike’s overall profile.
Several other treats are in store for riders. The Fireblade SP is the world’s first production bike to include the electronically controlled third-generation Öhlins 43-millimeter NPX inverted fork, which uses a pressurized damping system that enables better bump absorption and other benefits. You’ll also find a lightweight Akrapovič titanium muffler with an exhaust valve designed to boost low-rpm torque and increase high-rpm horsepower.
Another feature worth noting is the new 2-motor throttle-by-wire system. It uses one motor for cylinders 1 and 2 and the other for cylinders 3 and 4. Honda says this makes the engine easier to control and use in the lower rpm ranges. As revs climb, all the throttle valves open simultaneously to produce a “smooth rush of top-end power.”
Take Total Control
First introduced in 2004, the race-worthy CBR1000RR sports a modest yet handsome Pearl White color scheme for 2025. Like the Fireblade SP, it’s emblematic of Honda’s “Total Control” concept, blending engine performance, a lighter weight (432 pounds; 196 kilograms), and agile handling to help riders form a tight connection with the bike. The bike’s flat-plane 1,000-cc liquid-cooled, in-line 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engine provides 10 more horsepower (7.5 kilowatts) than last year.
Riders can also expect improved aerodynamics. The radiator is streamlined with a high-density core, making it about 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) slimmer than before. The bike also has a lightweight aluminum die-cast frame and titanium fuel tank.
Safety features with the ABS trim include rear wheel lift analysis and lean angle program. The bike also has efficient LED lighting.
