Honda’s 2025 Monkey Has Retro Style & Modern Features
A perennial favorite, Honda’s iconic Monkey is back for the 2025 model year with retro styling and the power to entertain seasoned riders and newbies alike. The compact yet comfortable 124-cc Monkey, part of Honda’s miniMOTO lineup, is the entry-level bike you’ll keep for years.
Never Go Out Of Style
The first thing you notice when you look at any motorcycle is its style; few are as iconic as the Monkey. Curved surfaces and a trapezoid silhouette highlight the bike’s compact length, and the bike’s vibrant red color catches the eye. The glossy 1.5-gallon fuel tank sports a 3-D “old wing” design Honda logo, and the chrome steel high-mount front and rear fenders, exhaust shield, circular mirrors, and high-rise handlebar evoke the original Monkey.
Modern technological components, including the speedometer, the odometer with two trip meters, the 6-segment fuel-level indicator, and LED lighting, all have a retro twist.
Power Aplenty
The Monkey is equipped with a fifth gear for comfortable cruising. The 2-valve, 124-cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine has a wider spread of gear ratios, a 37-tooth rear sprocket, and an undersquare design with a narrow bore and long stroke.
Sporty Suspension
The Monkey’s steel backbone frame is balanced to handle various conditions. The motorcycle has a 45-inch (1,143-millimeter) wheelbase and 25°/3.22-in. (82-mm) rake and trail. The high-density urethane seat has a 2.7-5-in. (70-mm) cushion to keep the driver comfortable. The single 8.66-in. (220-mm) front disc and a 7.5-in. (190-mm) rear disc provide plenty of stopping power, managed by ABS in the front.
