All-New 2025 Indian Motorcycle Scout Cruisers Feature Redesigned SpeedPlus Engines
Indian Motorcycle has unleashed its all-new Scout cruiser motorcycle lineup for 2025, ushering in a completely redesigned SpeedPlus 1250 engine attached to a new steel tube frame designed to facilitate extensive customization. Indian offers more than 100 accessories buyers can use to personalize their bikes and support their riding style. Customers can also choose from various technology packages that combine cutting-edge rider-focused tech at varying price points.
“Since launching the current Scout 10 years ago, the mid-sized cruiser segment has evolved,” says Indian Motorcycle Product Director Ben Lindaman. “After conducting tons of research, rider insights drove our developments that prioritized the Scout’s iconic styling, its class-leading performance, and new rider-centric technology.”
Meet The New Indian Scout
The 2025 Scout family comprises the Scout Bobber, Sport Scout, Scout Classic, Super Scout, and 101 Scout. The first three models are available in several paint schemes and Standard, Limited, and Limited +Tech trims. The Super Scout and 101 Scout come standard with Limited +Tech features. The Super Scout offers three paint options, and the 101 Scout has two choices.
The Standard trim has an anti-lock braking system (ABS), LED lighting, and an analog gauge. The Limited trim adds premium badging, Traction Control, Cruise Control, and selectable ride modes (Sport, Standard, and Tour). Limited +Tech includes keyless ignition and a Ride Command-powered 4-inch round touchscreen that displays turn-by-turn navigation, route planning, Bike Health, Bike Locator, and other data and functionality.
Accessories Galore
Indian Motorcycle sells Scout family accessories individually but has also introduced four curated collections. The Overnighter collection features a solo luggage rack, an all-weather vinyl bag, and a 20-inch (508-millimeter) quick-release windshield ideal for medium- to long-distance treks. The Commuter collection satisfies daily transportation needs with extended and reduced-reach handlebars, a RAM X-Grip Phone Mount, and an ergonomic Syndicate seat.
The Stealth collection boasts premium accessories like Sleek Smoke turn signals, 10-in. (254-mm) moto handlebar risers and moto handlebars, and Bobber Saddlebags that Indian says emphasize the Scout’s aggressive style and functionality. The Open Roads collection satiates long-haul riding requirements with steel front highway handlebars, LED driving lights, touring passenger backrest pads, a Syndicate low-profile passenger backrest, and other premium accessories.
The SpeedPlus 1250 Engine
The Scout's liquid-cooled, 1,250-cc SpeedPlus 1250 engine delivers up to 111 horsepower (83 kilowatts) and over 82 pounds-foot (111 newton-meters) of torque. The V-twin power plant features electronic fuel injection for smooth throttle response. Indian matches the engine to a 6-speed transmission.
“Our top priority was to uphold the iconic namesake of Scout and ensure the new lineup is as timeless as all its predecessors,” says Indian Motorcycle Director of Product Design Ola Stenegard. “For us, it was imperative to keep it clean, follow the iconic lines of Scout, and create a package that offered seamless customization. To achieve this, it all started with the steel tube frame and all-new, V-twin engine.”
