2024 CVO Pan America Marks An Adventure Touring First For Harley-Davidson
Harley-Davidson has graced its 2024 motorcycle lineup with the new CVO Pan America, the first entry from its limited-run Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) collection in the adventure touring category. On- and off-road enthusiasts are in for a treat, as the bike starts with The Motor Company’s Pan America 1250 Special and adds custom paint, durable top and side cases, a Screamin’ Eagle quick shifter, and other tasty components.
A Design Worth Celebrating
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the CVO collection, and the CVO Pan America pays its respects with anniversary graphics on its console insert and the top of its outer fairing. The company complements the bike’s ruggedly handsome custom Legendary Orange color with black trim, Raven Metallic and Atlas Silver colors on the fairing and fuel tank, and a “#1 Harley-Davidson” logo on the fuel tank.
At the rear, there’s a rugged aluminum side case on each side of the passenger seat and a watertight top case behind it with 1.34 cubic feet (38 liters) of storage. Harley-Davidson collaborated with accessory provider SW-Motech on the cases, which sport a “CVO” emblem.
Comfort Wherever You Go
Harley-Davidson sets the CVO Pan America up for comfortable rides on smooth highway surfaces or rougher dirt roads with an upright riding position, mid-mount foot controls, and semi-active front and rear suspensions. The front suspension has a 47-millimeter inverted fork and dynamically adjusts damping depending on the bike’s position, speed, ride mode, and other parameters. The rear suspension has a linkage-mounted mono-shock with automatic electronic preload control and semi-active compression and rebound damping.
Riders will also reap the benefits of the CVO Pan America’s Adaptive Ride Height (ARH) system. Built into the suspension systems, ARH lowers the seat height during stops and keeps an ongoing optimal suspension sag when in motion by monitoring inputs and adjusting preload.
The Harley-Davidson CVO Pan America In Action
A liquid-cooled Revolution Max 1250 engine rated for 150 horsepower (112 kilowatts) and 46 miles per gallon propels the CVO Pan America. The Screamin’ Eagle quick shifter enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts, and riders can select a ride mode from among the Sport, Road, Rain, Off-Road, and Off-Road Plus settings—or they can create a custom ride mode that combines numerous settings preferences.
The bike boasts a laundry list of safety systems, including a Daymaker Adaptive LED headlamp with a 6-segment LED banking lamp, traction control, tire-pressure monitoring, wheel lift mitigation, and an anti-lock braking system (ABS).
