Suzuki Boulevard C50 & M109R Cruisers Usher In 2024 With Performance & Style
Suzuki returns its Boulevard C50 and Boulevard M109R cruiser motorcycles for 2024, giving riders two options for motoring down city streets, highways, and interstates in style. The C50 combines all-day riding comfort with a heritage cruiser appearance topped by a flashy, eye-popping Candy Daring Red paint job. The M109R musters up more power with its 109-cubic-inch (1,786-cubic-centimeter) engine while presenting a more aggressive, imposing sensibility with its gorgeous Glass Sparkle Black exterior.
Suzuki’s Boulevard M109R: A Beautiful Beast
Suzuki decks out the M109R with everything from flat-bend, drag-style handlebars to a sloping headlight nacelle and a low-profile 9.4-inch (240-millimeter)-wide rear tire—the industry’s widest, the company says. For even more cruiser attitude, buyers can step up to the optional Blacked Out Special Suzuki (BOSS) package, which provides a blacked-out exhaust system, cylinder head covers, handlebars, and more.
The M109R also has plenty of muscle; its 1,783-cc, 54-degree, liquid-cooled V-twin engine roars through a dual large-diameter exhaust system with slash-cut mufflers. At 4.4 in. (111 mm), the bike’s forged aluminum-alloy pistons are some of the industry’s largest, Suzuki says. The power plant mounts to a high-tensile double-cradle frame that can handle plenty of power and torque and still provides a smooth, agile riding experience.
The Suzuki Boulevard C50: Nostalgia Meets Performance
The C50’s slick paintwork, shiny chrome touches, valance-style fenders with sculpted ends, and other features give the bike a traditional cruiser look, but with a fresh, modern style. This aesthetic gets contributions from the classic 4.1-gallon (15.5-liter) fuel tank, the spoke-style wheels and wide tires, and the link-type rear suspension that Suzuki shaped to mimic the hardtail lines of a heritage cruiser.
The C50 employs a smaller 50-cu-in. 805-cc liquid-cooled 4-valve V-twin engine that provides ample oomph for barreling down urban streets and country roads. The engine mounts to a dual, chrome, staggered exhaust system that delivers a growling exhaust note. The engine is also equipped with the Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) electronic fuel-injection system for smooth low-to mid-rpm throttle response.
