Suzuki V-Strom 650 Returns For 2024 In Three Models
The Suzuki V-Strom 650 range of adventure motorcycles returns for 2024 with three model options. Buyers can’t go wrong with solid options for a versatile bike capable of handling touring, commuting, and weekend rides.
The standard V-Strom 650 features a Solid Iron Gray style similar to the Suzuki DR-Big dual-sport models. The 650XT sports Glass Sparkle Black paint and sharp, new gray and gold graphics and gold-anodized rims. The 650XT Adventure has a brighter, sportier appearance with Pearl Vigor Blue/Pearl Brilliant White paint. Blue graphics and blue-anodized aluminum rims also adorn the Adventure model.
Getting Good Traction
A liquid-cooled, 4-stroke 90-degree 645-cc V-twin engine powers all V-Strom 650 modes. Suzuki says the engine provides the strong torque and power needed for any ride.
Each trim includes the Low RPM Assist feature. This feature delivers smooth power delivery by adjusting engine speed during takeoffs. The V-Strom 650 models also include an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an Easy Start System.
The motorcycles’ Advanced Traction Control System tracks the front and rear wheel speeds and the transmission gear to adjust the engine output when detecting wheel spin. There are three traction modes available for riders to adjust sensitivity levels according to the road conditions.
V-Strom Distinguishing Features
Several features set the V-Strom 650 bikes apart from other models. The beak-style fairing integrates stacked headlights and a three-way height-adjustable windscreen. Suzuki says it tested the windscreen to reduce wind sounds, buffeting, and rider fatigue. The bike’s handlebar cross-brace makes mounting GPS devices and other accessories easy.
Each bike also has a 5.3-gallon (20.1-liter) fuel tank narrower at the rear, allowing for a slimmer seat. The seat, which has a slip-resistant surface, can accommodate two people.
The bikes also have spring-preload-adjustable 1.7-inch (43-millimeter) front forks and 10-spoke cast wheels wrapped with Adventure-spec Bridgestone Battlax radial tires.
The 650XT Adventure sets itself apart with two aluminum quick-release side cases that attach to powder-coated stainless-steel carriers. Suzuki says it leverages “super-strong, no-pierce rivet technology” with waterproof carriers and rubber-sealing lids. The carriers also have powder-coated interiors to prevent aluminum staining on stowed gear.
