Suzuki GSX-R600, R1000 & R1000R Bring Precision, Power & Paint Options To Sport Bike Buyers For 2024
Suzuki returns the GXS-R600, GXS-R1000, and GSX-R1000R high-performance sport bikes for 2024 with numerous paint options to suit a variety of tastes. The midsized GSX-R600 features a refined suspension and brakes for precise, responsive handling, the company says. The bike’s more powerful siblings are powered by liquid-cooled, 4-stroke 999.8-cc engines. Suzuki says the bikes deliver class-leading power due in part to the manufacturer’s exclusive Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system and a 4-2-1 exhaust with a revised muffler and heat shield.
The GXS-R600
The GSX-R600 comes in three paint options, including Pearl Brilliant White/Metallic Matte Stellar Blue, Pearl Brilliant White/Metallic Triton Blue, and Metallic Matte Black No. 2/Glass Sparkle Black. Riders will appreciate the bike’s 4-cylinder, fuel-injected 599-cc power plant, which Suzuki inclines forward at the top for enhanced cylinder head charging and increased power output. Suzuki also suspends the engine below the bike’s twin-spar aluminum frame to keep the mass low and the wheelbase short for agile handling.
The motorcycle’s 3-way adjustable footpegs, adjustable shift lever, and short fuel tank are designed to give riders a comfortable riding position and allow the movement riders require in performance riding, says Suzuki. The included Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) lets riders select between two modes to match power delivery to their personal taste and riding conditions. The bike’s excellent handling gets another assist from the lightweight, fully adjustable, race-developed Showa Big Piston Front Fork and single Showa rear shock used.
The GSX-R1000 & GSX-R1000R
Introduced in 2001, the GSX-R1000 is available for 2024 in a new Glass Matte Mechanical Gray option with dark red wheels and a Metallic Matte Black No. 2/Glass Sparkle Black scheme with new, bright-blue graphics on the fairing and black wheels. The GSX-R1000R offers the same schemes but with gold anodized suspension components for extra flare. The GSX-R1000R also comes in the race-inspired Pearl Brilliant White/Metallic Triton Blue option with bright-blue wheels and blue anodized suspension pieces.
Each bike is packed with advanced performance and rider-assist technologies, including adjustable traction control, a 3-mode S-DMS, and the Suzuki Bi-Directional Quick Shift System, which was previously only available on the GSX-R1000R. The system makes possible clutchless upshifts and downshifts during competition riding. The GSX-R1000R also has Motion Track Anti-Lock Brake and Launch Control systems that enhance street and track performance. In addition, the bike boasts an LCD multifunctional instrument panel with a black background, which simplifies accessing its advanced electronics and makes it easier to view the tachometer bar, speedometer, and other information.
