BRP Announces New Ski-Doo & Lynx Snowmobiles, Including The Brands’ Debut Electric Models
BRP Inc., maker of Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, recently unveiled its new model lineup for 2024, which includes the first-ever electric models for both lines. There’s a sled for everyone, from die-hard fans to casual riders, the company says.
”The Ultimate Trail Sled”
Ski-Doo’s newest offering is the MXZ X-RS, which comes with the new trail version of the Rotax 850 E-TEC Turbo R, which has what BRP says is the industry’s first water injection system. The manufacturer also says the Rotax 850 E-TEC Turbo R is the most powerful two-stroke engine on the market. In addition to plenty of power, the MXZ X-RS has strengthened components of Ski-Doo’s Competition package for increased durability on rough trails. It is also equipped with an ultra-low windshield, heated throttle lever grips, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. The MXZ X-RS also comes with a Rotax 600R E-TEC engine option with a 7.2-inch digital gauge.
“The new MXZ X-RS is the ultimate trail sled, truly at the pinnacle of high performance,” says Jérémi Doyon-Roch, manager, Global Marketing, Snowmobile and Cross Brand Initiatives at BRP. “We’ve combined the best components to deliver an unforgettable ride that will leave the most ardent skeptics smiling from ear to ear. We’ve also deployed the REV Gen5 platform on the Renegade, Backcountry, and Grand Touring, to offer riders the best possible technologies, refined performance, and ultimately, the best experience ever on a snowmobile.”
New Lynx Sleds
The Lynx Radien2 platform is now available on the Rave, Xterrain, and 49 Ranger models for a smoother ride and full balance control. Lynx also recently announced the Commander RE package to celebrate the Commander’s 15-year anniversary. The new package includes the 180-horsepower (134-kilowatt) Rotax 900 ACE Turbo R engine, high-performance shocks, and the EasyRide+ rear suspension for enhanced comfort and performance.
“At Lynx, we build snowmobiles for riders as tough as our sleds, driving our community to find new limits in the ride and break through them,” says Doyon-Roch. “Our new 2024 models are no different. The expansion of the Radien2 platform, the Commander RE package and the new technologies we are introducing make our sleds the best snowmobile to overcome whatever winter throws at us.”
Zero-Emissions Snowmobiling
New for the 2024 model year, Ski-Doo and Lynx introduce their first electric snowmobiles, the Grand Touring Electric and the Adventure Electric, respectively. (Lynx’s Adventure Electric is currently only available in Europe.) Both snowmobiles provide emissions-free winter fun powered by Rotax E-Power technology with power for excursions of up to 50 kilometers. The new snowmobiles are the first step in BRP’s goal of offering electric models in all of its product lines by 2026.
