Can-Am Unveils All-Electric Origin & Pulse Motorcycles With Throttle & Go Acceleration
When Can-Am motorcycles hit the motocross scene in early 1970s, the BRP brand found instant success with several National Motocross Championship and AMA Supercross Championship crowns. BRP plans to bring back Can-Am motorcycles in 2024 with the all-electric Can-Am Origin and Can-Am Pulse.
“Half a century ago, Can-Am roared to victory on the track and the trail, and today, a new legacy begins,” says BRP CEO José Boisjoli. “With the Can-Am Origin and Can-Am Pulse, the first two models of our electric two-wheel family, we are gearing up to reclaim our motorcycle heritage by crafting thrilling riding experiences for a whole new generation.”
The Shape Of Things To Come
Although full specifications won’t be released until August 2023, BRP did provide a few details to outline the general roadmap for each motorcycle. The Can-Am Origin will be designed for on- and off-road use. BRP says the Origin is a tribute to Can-Am’s Track n’ Trail heritage. The Pulse will be a street bike for daily commuters. Both motorcycles will be powered by BRP’s all-new Rotax E-Power technology. The all-electric powertrain does away with a standard clutch and transmission, and riders will only need to twist the throttle to accelerate.
New Electric Hydrofoil Board Announced
BRP’s upcoming Sea-Doo Rise offers new levels of versatility when hydrofoiling, allowing beginning riders to be on the water without foiling, and providing partial or full wing deployment for when you’re ready to foil above water.
“In true BRP fashion, we designed a product that is easy to use and adaptable for all skill levels, making it accessible for all those seeking to rise above the water,” says Boisjoli. Specifications for the all-electric Sea-Doo Rise will also be released next August.
