Kawasaki Updates Teryx4 S LE Side-By-Side For Greater Comfort & Handling
Kawasaki has updated its lineup of Teryx4 side-by-side utility vehicles for the 2023 model year with three new models including the Teryx4 S LE. The UTV includes the same four-stroke, fuel-injected 783-cc V-twin engine and other features as the standard Teryx4, but adds a sun top and long-travel suspension with FOX 2.0 LSC Piggyback shocks tuned to Kawasaki’s proprietary suspension settings. The Teryx4 Special Edition has the same platform and features as the S LE, but adds a high-grade audio system, a WARN VRX 35 Powersport winch, and special color options and graphics. The S LE’s available color schemes include Metallic Electric Turquoise and Super Black, Neon Red and Super Black, and Fragment Camo Gray.
Adventures Made Comfortable
The Teryx4 S LE is designed keep riders comfortable, even when navigating rough trails. Its durable welded double-X steel tube frame includes a reinforced all-steel front brush guard and automotive-styled doors for added passenger safety. Additionally, its independent A-arms have a more pronounced curvature for greater ground clearance. The aforementioned long-travel suspension delivers increased wheel travel of 10.7 inches (272 millimeters) at the front and 10 in. (254 mm) at the rear, with FOX 2.0 shocks with fully adjustable preload and adjustable compression damping capabilities. The S LE’s longer 88.2-in. (2,240-mm) wheelbase and increased 55-in. (1,397-mm) tread width makes for a nimbler stance, Kawasaki says.
The UTV is equipped with selectable two-wheel or four-wheel drive with locking front differential, and speed-sensitive electric power steering (EPS), which Kawasaki says adds assistance at lower speeds and stellar feedback when moving a bit faster. The manufacturer says the combination of EPS and a tight 17.7-foot (5.4-meter) turning radius makes handling tighter trails easy. Riders will stay comfy in stadium-style seats, and drivers will appreciate the Teryx4’s adjustable tilt steering wheel.
The Teryx4 Up Close
Kawasaki mates the S LE’s V-twin engine to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that it says delivers the low and midrange torque needed to muscle through the most challenging trails. The transmission delivers 47 pounds-foot (63.7 newton-meters) of maximum torque at 5,500 rpm. The UTV has a 1,300-pound (590-kilogram) towing capacity and a 1,000-lb (454-kg) load capacity. It weighs 1,638 lbs (743 kg) and has a fuel capacity of 7.9 gallons (30 liters). At night, four LED headlights, two LED taillights, and an LED stoplight make the Teryx4 more visible and lighten its surroundings. A multifunction digital meter tracks speed, fuel usage, mileage, and other useful information.
