Stylish 2022 Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE LT+ Ready For City Streets & Open Roads
If you’re seeking an urban commuter that can also handle long road trips on backroads, check out the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE LT+ for 2022. The bike rocks a combination of dapper Metallic Graphite Gray, Metallic Diablo Black, and Metallic Flat Spark Black colors and graphics, and includes a long list of enticing advanced electronics, onboard technologies, and power and performance features. An upright seating position, an adjustable and vented windscreen, its 5.5-gallon (20.8-liter) fuel capacity, and removable 1-cubic-foot (28-L) saddlebags should keep you riding comfortably for long stretches.
Get Comfortable
Kawasaki says the 1000 SE LT+’s upper cowl, wide fairings, and surrounding bodywork keep riders comfortable even in inclement weather. Other comfort-centric features include a wide handlebar, low forward foot pegs, a six-way adjustable brake lever, and a five-way adjustable clutch lever that riders can match to their hand size and positioning preference.
The bike also comes equipped with an advanced electronic control suspension system with Showa Skyhook Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (ERRA) technology, which Kawasaki says is tuned for sporty riding characteristics and a smooth ride. By continually adjusting to road surfaces in real time, ERRA allows for light steering on highways and stability on wet conditions. The Versys’ front suspension includes a 43-millimeter inverted fork with Kawasaki Electronic Control System (KECS)-tamed rebound and compression damping. The rear suspension also includes KECS-controlled capabilities, and features a horizontal back-link New Uni-Trak BFRC (balance free rear suspension) gas-charged shock with piggyback reservoir.
Plenty Of Tech
The Versys 1000 SE LT+ packs an impressive lineup of technology, including everything from Bluetooth-enabled smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s RIDEOLOGY app to all-LED lighting and selectable Full and Low power modes. Other items of note include electronic cruise control, the Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-Lock Brake System (KIBS), and a Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) that allows for clutchless shifting. The Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF) modulates brake force and engine power, and Kawasaki Traction Control (KTC) provides three selectable modes to suit different riding conditions.
A few power-related features worth noting include electronic throttle valves governed by an electronic control unit (ECU) and, of course, the bike’s 1,043-cc inline four-stroke, four-cylinder, 16-valve liquid-cooled engine. Kawasaki promises smooth, natural engine response, and thanks to the Assist and Slipper clutch technology’s back-torque-limiting functionality, excessive engine braking won’t cause rear-tire hopping and skidding.
