Honda Unveils 2022 Model PCX Scooter For Urban-Friendly Rides
If you’re looking for a fuel-friendly vehicle to get you to work, school, the grocery store, or other urban destinations, the Honda PCX scooter is a fine match. Honda recently announced it’s bringing the PCX back for the 2022 model year, complete with a freeway-ready 156.9-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine. That’s in addition to roughly 8 gallons (30.3 liters) of lockable, weather-resistant under-seat storage, and a new-rider-friendly driving experience. You can also power mobile devices along the way via a built-in 12-volt charging port and bring a friend along for the ride on the stepped passenger seat.
Built To Scoot
Honda Introduced the PCX in 2009 and initially made it available in the North American market in 2015. Over the years, Honda bolstered its engine power, added LED lighting, and introduced a double-underbone-style frame structure, among other improvements. The 2022 version’s PCX and PCX ABS (anti-locking braking system) available trims sport a Pearl White paint job and comes with such rider-friendly features as a push-button electric starter, side- and center-stand parking options, and an automatic Honda V-Matic transmission. The PCX ABS’ curb weight is 2 pounds (0.9 kilograms) heavier at 288 lbs (130 kg).
The PCX’s design neatly incorporates a 2.1-gallon (9.50-liter) fuel tank, an LED headlight, LED turn signals, and an X-shaped tail lamp featuring multi-optics technology. An easy-to-view LCD instrument panel sits above the chrome handlebar, and a square clamp cover is designed to match the overall design. Honda also includes a rubber-mounted handlebar holder to reduce vibrations to the rider’s hands. Specs worth noting include a 31-millimeter telescopic fork front suspension with 3.94 inches (100 millimeters) of travel and a twin-shock rear suspension with 3.7 in. (94 mm) of travel. The PCX’s seat height is 30.1 in. (76.5 cm).
