John Deere Salutes Military Veterans With Gator XUV835M Honor Edition Utility Vehicle
John Deere’s latest special-edition Gator side-by-side proudly wears its military-inspired graphics and sand desert exterior panels as a tribute to U.S. military veterans and the sacrifices they’ve made. Based on Deere’s standard full-sized XUV835M, the Gator XUV835M Honor Edition Utility Vehicle is available for a limited time and comes in open-station and HVAC cab configurations and with various upgraded features.
Honoring The Brave
The XUV835M Honor Edition’s introduction coincides with support that Deere has thrown behind The SAVE Farm project, a nonprofit organization that provides service members, veterans, and their families with farming, ranching, and agribusiness training and healing programs. This year, Deere donated $200,000 to the program. Last year, The SAVE Farm project purchased a 308-acre farm near Riley, Kansas, where it will provide hands-on training for managing cropland, livestock, orchards, horticulture, and beekeeping.
“John Deere has a long history of supporting the military and our veterans who have sacrificed so much to protect this country," says Gator Utility Vehicles Go-To-Market Manager Maureen McCormack. "We are proud to honor these brave individuals through our new special-edition Gator Utility Vehicle while supporting organizations like The SAVE Farm."
The XUV835M Honor Edition In Action
With seating for three, the Gator XUV835M Honor Edition features military-inspired model numbers and graphics, black-alloy wheels equipped with Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 Extreme Terrain radial tires, a black roof, and half doors for open-station models. In place of the Maxxis tires, Predator Heavy Duty all-terrain radial tires are available as an option, providing what Deere says is an excellent alternative for hard surfaces or intermediate off-road applications.
Additionally on tap is a deluxe cargo box with 1,000-pound (454-kilogram) capacity, cargo box power lift tipping mechanism, and power steering with a sport steering wheel as well as a three-cylinder, liquid-cooled 54-horsepower (40-kilowatt) four-cycle engine. The side-by-side has a 2,000-pound (907-kilogram) towing capacity and a fully independent dual A-arm front and rear suspension, as well as single-beam LED headlights and electronic switches for immediate four-wheel drive engagement and differential lock.
