Indian Motorcycle Announces Limited-Edition Ultra-Premium 2021 Chieftain Elite
If you’re a rider looking to turn heads with “the best of the best,” Indian Motorcycle’s new 2021 Chieftain Elite may be for you. Act quickly, though, as the Polaris-owned motorcycle company will only produce 120 of the elite cruisers for worldwide availability. A member of Indian’s Elite family of ultra-premium, limited-edition bikes along with the Roadmaster Elite, the 2021 Chieftain Elite offers premium amenities, numerous technology implementations, and exclusive stylings. The latter includes a premium two-tone Thunder Black Vivid Crystal over Carbon Crystal paint scheme and Slate Smoke finish for the V-twin Thunderstroke 116 engine.
“We designed the Chieftain Elite for riders who want to turn heads and stand out without sacrificing performance or comfort,” says Indian Motorcycle Vice President Reid Wilson. "The bike’s attention to detail and world-class craftsmanship is second to none, while its extreme exclusivity makes it something truly special to own and ride.”
“Unleashing The Power”
Available at Indian dealerships, the 2021 Chieftain Elite’s paint job requires more than 24 hours to complete by hand, Indian notes. Elsewhere, the bike’s fairing and slammed saddlebags feature sharp lines and hard edges, while the two-up Rogue seat is designed to create a sleek profile. The 19-inch (48.3-centimeter) precision-machined front wheel rolls under an open front fender, and owners have several handlebar and seat options available, including a Low Profile Quick Release Passenger Sissy Bar and Backrest Pad.
Performance accessories include slip-on exhaust and muffler kits that Indian says deepen the “exhaust note while unleashing the power.” Indian says pairing a kit with a Thunderstroke Stage 1 Performance Air Intake or High-Flow Air Intake can increase horsepower by 8%. Standard premium amenities include Pathfinder LED lighting, tinted flare windshield with push-button power, aluminum floorboards, and an integrated 400-watt PowerBand Audio system. Technology inclusions include Indian’s 7-inch Ride Command infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay functionality. Riders also have Tour, Standard, and Sport ride modes available, resulting in a bike “with three distinct personalities,” Indian says.
