Harley-Davidson Announces Pan America Motorcycle Demo Tour Highlighting New Adventure Touring Models
Following the introduction of its Pan America 1250 and 1250 Special adventure touring motorcycles, Harley-Davidson has announced the Pan America Motorcycle Demo Tour, which starts in Dallas, Texas, on April 16th and ends in Prescott, Arizona, on November 7th, with several planned stops in between. The company encourages those interested to sign up for hosted demonstrations on the event’s official booking site, but there will also be day-of signups available at some locations. You will also find a complete list of scheduled events here.
The Pan America
One important feature of both Pan America motorcycles is the completely redesigned Revolution Max 1250 engine. The 1,250-cc V-Twin produces 150 horsepower (112 kilowatts) with wet weights of just 534 pounds (242 kilograms) on the 1250 and 559 lbs (254 kg) on the 1250 Special. Harley-Davidson says the engine offers “smooth, low-end torque delivery and low-speed throttle control that is optimized for off-road riding.
Another standout is the Pan America 1250 Special’s Adaptive Ride Height feature that automatically adjusts the riding position based on whether the motorcycle is moving or at rest. When not in motion, the lower riding position “makes the motorcycle easier to mount and dismount,” but doesn’t sacrifice “lean angles or ground clearance,” according to Harley-Davidson.
