Kawasaki Introduces Updated KLR 650 Sport Touring Motorcycle
Kawasaki recently unveiled its 2022 model KLR 650 sport touring motorcycle and announced several notable improvements designed improve the motorcycle’s reliability and convenience on and off the road. At the top of the list is the new fuel injection system for the 652-cc single-cylinder engine, all-new disc brakes with optional ABS (anti-lock braking system), and all-digital, multi-function instrumentation. Models options for 2022 include the KLR 650 ABS (MSRP $6,999 with ABS, $6,699 without ABS), the KLR 650 Traveler (MSRP $7,399), and the KLR 650 Adventure (MSRP $7,999).
Ready For Adventure
Kawasaki’s KLR 650 Adventure comes equipped with many of the top KLR factory accessories, including side cases with optional one-key system, DC and USB power outlets, fog lamps, and a tank pad. The factory-installed amenities give the KLR 650 Adventure built-in convenience and provide storage to make the motorcycle ready for longer trips right away. The next trim level down, the KLR 650 Traveler, comes from the factory equipped with a top case and DC and USB power outlets.
What Else Is New In 2022?
Kawasaki says the KLR 650 series offers new, improved ergonomics for rider comfort. And with new LED headlights, a taller two-position adjustable windshield, and an increased generator capacity, the 2022 KLR 650 series improves both the on-road and off-road rider experience. Kawasaki rates the 2022 KLR 650 with a maximum torque of 39.1 pounds-foot at 4,500 rpm, and the five-speed transmission now features return shift with a wet multi-disc clutch.
