Beginning Riders Can Learn With Honda’s Model Year 2020 CRF110F
Built with a clutch-less four-speed semi-automatic transmission and predictable power delivery, Honda’s CRF110F is a kid-sized, full-featured bike that company says “makes learning a breeze.” Honda has been producing four-stroke dirt bikes for beginners since the introduction of the XR75 in 1973, and the model year 2020 version of the CRF110F provides all the easy-to-operate features younger riders need in an affordable (retail price is $2,399), durable, and reliable package.
Handling & Ride
The automatic clutch on the CRF110F allows riders to shift with their foot, which helps keep them from stalling, and Honda designed the bike with a smooth transmission for nimble switching among the four gear ratios. The new CRF110F features a redesigned frame with additional travel on the rear suspension for a smoother ride. The fortified frame comes with a tough plastic fenders and a steel frame that are engineered to handle the falls likely to occur with new riders—all while looking the part of Honda’s bigger CRF bikes.
Engineered For Less Experienced Riders
Parents can set the bike’s top speed simply by turning a screw, letting them easily match the power output to a rider’s skill level. Easy electric start allows beginning riders to quickly start again after a tip-over, and there’s a backup kick starter, ideal for when the bike has been sitting all winter. The fuel-injected engine also helps the bike to start up in cold weather, as well as reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency.
