Honda CRF250RX Purpose-Built For Off-Road Performance
The 2019 CRF250RX was the model of choice for JCR Honda's Preston Campbell, SLR Honda's Tallon LaFountaine, and Phoenix Racing Honda's Austin Lee, and for 2020, Honda continues to advance the CRF250RX’s ability to compete in closed-course, off-road races. Just a few of the key upgrades include engine enhancements that provide more low-to-midrange power and chassis revisions that improve off-road handling. Honda expects the 2020 CRF250RX to be available this October for around $8,299.
A Front Of The Pack Bike
The CRF250RX is built with off-road-specific components like a large fuel tank (holds 2.25 gallons), an aluminum sidestand, and an 18-inch rear wheel. Honda complements the performance parts with a smart ECU and special engine mapping to produce optimal power for each gear. Additional power updates on the 2020 model include a new cam profile (delivering better bottom-end torque), revised 33-millimeter intake and 26-millimeter exhaust values, and a reshaped combustion chamber that’s coordinated to work with the new value sizes. The 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine boasts a 79.0mm bore and a short 50.9mm stroke ratio.
Elite Off Road Control
To improve maneuverability, the 2020 CRF250RX has a lighter frame and swingarm, and Honda optimized the bike’s flex characteristics. Honda also lowers the battery position on the 2020 model for a better center of gravity. Internal front-and-rear suspension updates, including a 49mm Showa fork on the front suspension, also increase the handling and feel.
