2020 Model Year Honda CRF450R Dirt Bike Coming This July
Honda Powersports recently highlighted its 2020 lineup of dirt bikes, and among them was the flagship CRF450R. One of the major additions to the 2020 model is Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system, which the company says “maximizes rear-tire hookup to keep all of the Unicam engine’s horsepower driving the bike and rider forward.” It comes with a switch mounted on the handlebar that lets the rider choose from one of three levels of delivery to ensure maximum traction at all times.
Other updates to the CRF450R include a relocated battery for a lower center of gravity, more durable rear brake pads, internal suspension upgrades, and Dunlop Geomax MX3S tires. These new features strengthen the bike’s already strong racing pedigree, which is why it’s the model of choice for Ken Roczen and Cole Seely of Team Honda HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) in AMA Supercross racing.
Features & Specs
Honda’s 2020 CRF450R features a 449cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke Unicam engine and a close-ratio five-speed transmission. It has an inverted Showa fork front suspension with adjustable rebound and compression damping and a Pro-Link single shock rear suspension with adjustable spring preload, rebound, and compression damping. It also features a twin-spar aluminum frame, twin-muffler exhaust system, electric start, HRC launch control, titanium fuel tank and intake valves, and an engine mode selection button where the rider can thumb between Standard, Smooth, and Aggressive settings based on the condition of the track.

The Honda CRF450R will be available starting in July with an MSRP of $9,399. There is also an updated CRF450RWE (Works Edition) model coming; it will be available in August for $11,999.
