Honda’s Grom Celebrates 10 Years With New Colors
Honda recently announced its Grom miniMOTOs for the 2024 model year. To celebrate its 10th year of production, the Grom has new colors and design features. The Grom’s first decade garnered a strong following from fans of the low seat height, compact size, and lower cost of ownership. The 2024 model year Grom comes in Blue Raspberry, Pearl White, and Nitric Orange options. The Grom SP is available in Matte Gray Metallic and the Grom ABS comes in Pearl White.
Even Better
The Grom had a comprehensive redesign in 2017 that resulted in a more aggressive look and the current 2024 iteration allows for easy customization. The new Grom is equipped with a five-speed transmission and impressive gas mileage and low maintenance costs that attract riders as much as its style. The Grom has a small subframe and thick seat padding on the low 30-inch (762-millimeter)-high seat. The four main body panels can be attached or detached quickly, making it easy for riders to personalize their bike.
Impressive Performance
The Grom’s engine, exhaust, wheels, and swingarm are all blacked out as part of its aesthetic. The miniMOTO has a fuel capacity of 1.6 gallons (6 liters), PGM-FI fuel injection, and a 2.5-L airbox with a 10,000-mile (16,000-kilometer) wet-paper filter. The 125-cc 2-valve, overhead-cam, air-cooled engine with a compression ratio of 10:1 has an undersquare design with a narrow 50-mm bore and long 63.1-mm stroke. The LCD digital dash provides important information to riders with a gear-position indicator, speedometer, tachometer, twin trip meters, fuel gauge, and a clock.
The motorcycle has a 31-mm inverted fork and single shock suspension, dual-piston front caliper brakes with an 8.6-in. (220-mm) disc, and a single-piston rear caliper with a 7.5-in. (190-mm) disc, and 12-in. (305-mm) cast wheels with a 5-spoke pattern.
