Indian Motorcycle Details Limited Production, Ultra-Premium 2020 Roadmaster Elite
If you want to put your seat in the seat of an Indian Motorcycle 2020 Roadmaster Elite, don’t delay. The Polaris-owned brand plans to produce only 225 units of the bike, which Indian Motorcycle Vice President Reid Wilson describes as a “statement maker” that boosts the “ultimate touring experience” of a standard Roadmaster to “an even higher level.” Featuring a new Thunder Black Vivid Crystal over Gunmetal Flake paint scheme, beefier Thunder Stroke 116 engine, upgraded 600-watt PowerBand Audio Plus sound system, and enhanced Ride Command system, the Elite is available via Indian dealers for nearly $39,000 USD or nearly $47,000 CAD.
Meaner & Sportier
Indian says 2020 Roadmaster Elites will undergo a “meticulous” 30-plus-hour paint process that implements off-red pinstripes and red elite badging with matching push-rod tubes for a “new, meaner, and sportier look.” The upgraded PowerBand Audio Plus system, meanwhile, incorporates fairing, trunk, and saddlebag speakers that Indian says double the volume of the stock audio system. Elsewhere, the Bluetooth-compatible Ride Command system with 7-inch glove-compatible touchscreen receives new navigational traffic and weather overlays, as well as the ability to plan routes on the Ride Command website with up to 100 points and then wirelessly transfer it via Bluetooth to the bike.
Indian says the Elite’s Thunder Stroke 116 engine is its “most powerful air-cooled engine.” The engine includes a new high-flow cylinder head that Indian says enables 126 pounds-foot torque (170 newton-meters) to lead its class. Tour, Standard, and Sport riding modes, meanwhile, match throttle response to the driver’s riding preference and essentially present “one motorcycle with three distinct personalities.”
