If flying down the highway on a Suzuki Hayabusa is on your bucket list, now may be the time to cross that item off. The “ultimate sport bike” is returning to the Suzuki motorcycle lineup for 2024 in three versions, including a stunning 25th-anniversary model. The commemorative bike sports a 25th Anniversary emblem, Hayabusa Kanji symbols, select components with a gold-anodized finish, and a Glass Blaze Orange & Glass Sparkle Black color scheme worthy of a quarter century of Hayabusa production.

    Flight Of The Hayabusa

The Hayabusa is also available for 2024 in Metallic Thunder Gray & Candy Daring Red and Metallic Matte Black & Glass Sparkle Black color options. All three versions feature a refined inline 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled 1,340-cc engine. Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle bodies with dual fuel injectors feed the engine and help comprise a high-flow intake system that’s 12 millimeters (0.47 inches) longer to boost power at low to mid-range speeds. Two Suzuki Ram Air Direct (SRAD) intake ducts in the upper fairing enhance cooling efficiency by steering high-pressure fresh air to the air cleaner. Suzuki says the fairing design contributes to an 8% increase in airflow when the Hayabusa is in motion.

The modernized twin-spar aluminum frame neatly accommodates a symmetrical twin-silencer exhaust system that’s now 4.5 pounds (2 kilograms) lighter. Suzuki also redesigned the bodywork and subframe to lower the seat height to 31.5 in. (800 mm). The subframe is 1.5 lbs (0.68 kg) lighter but is constructed of longer rectangular steel tubing for good weight-carrying capability, says Suzuki. The company also reshaped the grab rail and made it easier for the passenger to grasp.

    Intelligent Control

The 2024 Hayabusa includes an advanced version of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), a set of electronic rider assistance systems for matching bike performance to rider preferences and road conditions. The stability-enhancing Motion Track Traction Control System, for example, provides 10 mode settings to limit wheel spin and enhance control.

The bike also provides a Cruise Control System, Bi-directional Quick Shift System, Slope Dependent Control System, and an Anti-lift Control System. The latter also provides 10 modes to limit the degree of front wheel lift-off when accelerating. Riders can adjust various SIRS settings using a switch on the handlebar, which is now 12 mm closer to the rider to ease fatigue and improve comfort and control.
