A Memorable Ride: Honda Announces 2023 Ruckus
The Honda Ruckus is perhaps the most unique option in the Honda motor sports lineup. Its small-in-size-but big-in-attitude design inspired the culture of scooter customization. Its diminutive size also makes it easy to maneuver and park. The Ruckus is equipped with the Honda V-Matic automatic belt-drive transmission, which eliminates the clutch and manual shifting and makes it easy for riders of any skill level to master. The 2023 model is available now and comes in three color options: White and Metallic Blue, Gray, and Midnight Blue and Tan.
About The Ruckus
The Ruckus is instantly recognizable with its step-through tubular-steel frame, dual headlights, and under-seat storage and helmet holder. The scooter’s frame is made up of two pieces, a die-cast aluminum front and a steel upper-rear. The seat sits at a comfortable 29 inches (73 centimeters) with plenty of padding. The front and rear drum brakes provide reliable stopping and the easy-to-use parking brake ensures the Ruckus stays safely in place when not in use. The scooter is powered by a lightweight liquid-cooled 49-cc four-stroke single-cylinder OHC engine and gets approximately 114 mpg. The one-speed automatic transmission requires absolutely zero shifting without even park or neutral and has a maintenance-free ignition system. Drivers simply turn the key and press a button to go. The Ruckus has a twin-downtube fork front suspension and a single-side aluminum swingarm with single-shock rear suspension for a smooth ride.
Other benefits of the Ruckus include a constant-velocity carburetor with automatic choke, an ultra-quiet exhaust system, and a maintenance-free battery. An electronic control unit wrangles a number of components, including the ignition system, alternator regulator, ACG starter, electric fuel pump, and the automatic choke. The instrumentation panel includes an analog speedometer and odometer, as well as indicator lights for fuel, coolant temperature, and low or high beams.
