Honda Powersports Details Updates For Company’s 2020 Model Year ATV Family
Honda Powersports recently announced numerous updates for its 2020 model year ATVs at the recent Power Lab 2019 dealer event just outside of Dallas. Honda’s ATV lineup includes the FourTrax multipurpose Foreman Rubicon, Foreman 4x4, Rancher, Rincon, and Recon models and TRX250X and TRX90X sports models. All are available this summer except the TRX90X, which goes on sale this fall.
FourTrax Foreman Rubicon. The 2020 year 500-class Foreman Rubicon gets a 43cc power boost via a new 518cc engine that Honda says adds power in the low- and mid-rpm ranges. Starting at $8,699, the Rubicon family is available in multiple color schemes and includes three versions that provide Honda’s DCT (dual-clutch transmission) and now feature a manual-shift override ability to let riders “command gear changes at will, even in automatic mode.”
FourTrax Foreman 4x4. Billed as “the real workhorse” in Honda’s multipurpose ATV stable, the 2020 year Foreman 4x4 starts at $7,399 and comes in three colors. The ATV also receives a displacement boost to 518cc to now provide improved acceleration and better towing performance. While the Foreman 4x4 ES EPS gets an easier-to-use reverse lever, all 2020 year Foremans and Rubicons add a new assist light, a front utility box, and front and rear racks compatible with Honda’s Pro-Connect lineup of accessories.
FourTrax Rancher. Available in eight versions starting at $5,499, the Rancher lineup offers various transmission, rear suspension, and steering combinations. Providing 420cc of muscle, the 2020 year Ranchers also receive new Pro-Connect-compatible racks and front utility box. Ranchers with automatic DCT or ESP (Electric Shift Program) transmissions receive an improved reverse lever and manual-override control.
FourTrax Rincon. Equipped with a 675cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected engine, the Rincon is Honda’s largest-displacement ATV. Honda mounts the Rincon’s engine longitudinally to align the crankshaft with the vehicle’s travel direction for “more direct connection with the rear axle.” Pricing is still to come.
FourTrax Recon. Available with manual foot shifting or ESP handlebar-mounted push-button gear selector transmission options, the Recon is Honda’s smallest multipurpose ATV. Honda says the Recon’s air-cooled, overhead-valve 229cc engine still provides “legendary” reliability and “user-friendly power delivery.” Pricing is still to come.
TRX250X. Honda’s TRX250X sport model provides an overhead-valve 229cc engine that’s air-cooled and mounted longitudinally to keep the ATV’s weight “low for nimble handling.” The TRX250X also includes Honda’s SportClutch feature, offering anti-stall technology and manual-override ability. Pricing is still to come.
TRX90X. Honda bills the TRX90X as the “ideal” choice for young riders and beginners. The ATV provides an 86cc single-overhead engine that “possesses enough torque to keep up with the bigger ATVs on family rides.” Pricing is still to come.
