Honda Announces 2023 Gold Wing Lineup
American Honda recently announced the 2023 models for its Gold Wing flagship touring bike family, which will be available starting in November. The Gold Wing is built for distance rides, with a comfortable seat, a generous luggage capacity, premium audio, and GPS navigation. The top trunk of the Gold Wing Tour versions provides 61 liters of storage to fit luggage or two XXL helmets, and the bikes have 30-liter saddlebags on each side, as well. The motorcycle is available in four trim levels, three of which feature Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission.
Power & Comfort
The Gold Wing is powered by an 1,833-cc liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine available with either a six-speed manual transmission or Honda’s seven-speed automatic dual clutch transmission (DCT). Walking mode for creeping forward and backward is available on DCT models, which also feature fork shaft dampers, a master-arm damper, and DCT clutch-center damper to minimize shift shock and noise. The double-wishbone front suspension and Pro-Link rear suspension provide a smooth ride.
The Gold Wing’s throttle-by-wire system offers multiple ride modes—Tour, Sport, Econ, and Rain—and electronic rider aids such as hill start assist, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, and Honda Selectable Torque Control. The 7-inch full-color thin-film transistor display provides controls for audio and navigation systems and individual rider-aid systems.
The Amenities
The passenger backrest is 30 millimeters tall with 5 mm of foam and has an angle of 24.5 degrees to reduce pressure on the hips. Riders can enjoy music, phone calls, and messaging through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto with 45-watt speakers. The Gold Wing also comes equipped with XM radio as a standard feature. The integrated navigation software provides speed limit information as well as four color options for viewing maps.
