Kawasaki’s KFX family of ATVs offer a beginner-friendly, safety-first approach to introduce young riders to four-wheel ATV adventures. The KFX 50 is designed for riders ages six or older, while the KFX 90 fits riders ages 12 or older. Both models, which Kawasaki carries forward in 2022, feature a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) collar, as well as an adjustable throttle limiter, so parents can control the speed and performance of the ATV. To limit jarring bumps, Kawasaki equips the KFX 50 and KFX 90 with independent A-arms on the front wheels and a single-shock rear suspension to the rear. An engine kill switch, which attaches to an extended lanyard, provides additional safety.

    More On The KFX 50

The KFX 50 is equipped with a 49.5-cc four-stroke engine and an automatic transmission offering novices smooth performance to help them gain experience in a controlled manner. And at a width of 34.6 inches (88 centimeters) and seat height of 25 in. (63.5 cm), the KFX 50 offers a wide stance and lower height that provides new riders with a stable platform fit to their size. The keyed ignition system prevents unauthorized use and simple electric starting. For reliable stopping power, Kawasaki includes dual front mechanical drum brakes and rear hydraulic disc brakes, which are activated using handlebar-mounted levers. Full floorboards provide a solid, safe footing.

Up Close With The KFX 90

Riders 12 years or older can step up to the KFX 90’s 89-cc engine and take on tougher tracks. Parental controls, including the throttle limiting control and the CVT speed limiter, let parents unlock speed as riders gain experience. Machine size on the KFX 90 increases to a width of 35.6 in. (90.4 cm) and a seat height of 25.6 in. (65 cm), and the reax axle’s ground clearance is 3.9 in. (9.9 cm). Kawasaki provides a backup kick starter as well as the electric starter.
