Harley-Davidson Announces Updated Ultra Limited Touring Bike For 2022
Harley-Davidson is taking all of January to introduce riders to its 2022 model year motorcycle lineup. Already, the motorcycle manufacturer has detailed about 20 bikes from this year’s lineup, and before month’s end, it will host a “Further. Faster.” world premiere event to introduce new limited-production motorcycles and more. In the meantime, the Motor Company has released some information on what we can expect from the Ultra Limited for 2022.
Made For Touring
Harley says that all of its Grand American Touring bikes for the new model year ride on emulsion-technology rear shock absorbers with single-knob ride control that greatly simplifies pre-loading your favorite ride setting. New Harley touring bikes also feature 49-millimeter forks with dual bending valve suspension technology that provide linear damping characteristics, and Reflex linked Brembo brakes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) that operates independently on the front and rear brakes.
The Ultra Limited and other Touring models for 2022 also include an option for Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements that help riders maintain their intended path through a curve. Cornering enhancements include electronically linked brakes, cornering ABS, cornering traction control featuring standard and rain mode, drag torque slip control, vehicle hold control, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The 2022 Ultra Limited
Designed to provide a fully loaded touring experience, the 2022 Ultra Limited does so in eight available color options, including some new ones, and is powered by a Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin engine rated for 93 horsepower (69 kilowatts) at 5,020 rpm and 122 pounds-foot (165 newton-meters) of torque at 3,000 rpm. The engine features electronic sequential port fuel injection (ESPFI) and is paired with a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission. The bike has a 27.5-inch (69.9-centimeter) seat height and a 6-gallon (22.7-liter) fuel capacity, and rolls on Dunlop Harley-Davidson Series tires and custom Slicer II cast-aluminum wheels, although Gloss Black Slicer II wheels are an available option. The Ultra Limited measures 102.3 in. (2,600 mm) long by 37.8 in. (960 mm) wide by 56.7 in. (1,440 mm) high.
Harley says the Ultra Limited’s batwing fairing with split-stream air vent reduces head buffeting. Further comfort-ensuring equipment includes a passenger seat with backrest, floorboards, and heated hand grips with six settings you can adjust on the fly. Also on tap is a premium Tour-Pak luggage carrier with space to store two helmets, Daymaker LED lighting, and the manufacturer’s Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with a 6.5-inch color display, four speakers, and hands-free communication functionality.
