To handle tough off-road terrain with ease, the Kodiak 700 EPS offers an impressive 10.8-inches of ground clearance. An independent double wishbone suspension serves up 7.1 inches of front wheel travel and 9.1 inches at the rear, Performance shocks offer 5-way adjustable preload front and rear for excellent rider comfort on the most challenging trails. Industry-leading speed-sensitive Electric Power Steering provides excellent control and trail feel, along with reduced fatigue. Four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes and a sealed wet rear brake system offer strong, consistent stopping power. Rugged 25-inch Maxxis® tires provide precise steering feel and feedback, along with exceptional off-road traction. Full-length composite skid plates provide maximum underbelly protection. Rugged composite front bumper resists scratching and won't rust. A low, plush seat improves comfort for extended days on the trail, while offering plenty of room for the rider to move around. Center-mounted, heavy-duty 2-inch receiver comes standard on the Kodiak 700 EPS and can tow up to 1,300 pounds. Powertrain The torquey big-bore 686cc engine is geared for low rpm cruising, smooth, quiet operation and impressive midrange power. Yamaha Fuel Injection (YFI) offers consistent engine performance in a wide range of conditions. High-mounted air intake layout increases power and torque while keeping water, mud and trail debris at bay. Intake design also provides additional room for on-board storage and easy toolless servicing of the air filter. Stainless steel exhaust system and features a screen-type spark arrestor for great power with minimum noise output. Featuring Yamaha's Ultramatic transmission, the industry's most advanced and durable CVT drive system. Kodiak 700 EPS' Ultramatic transmission features a gated shifter, dual-range (Hi/Lo) drive, plus reverse gear. CVT system utilizes a centrifugal wet clutch and a constant-tension belt system for unmatched reliability. A one-way sprag clutch offers predictable all-wheel engine braking at all speeds for added confidence. Yamaha's Continuously Variable Transmission is backed by the industry's only 10-year belt warranty. Three-position On-Command 4WD system lets you switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and fully locked differential 4WD. An override button allows the engine to reach maximum rpm in full differential lock mode. A separate drive system air intake reduces drive temperatures and helps keep water and debris from entering the drive case. High-capacity radiator with fan assist delivers plenty of air flow for maximum cooling efficiency.
