New Super73 eFTR Hooligan 1.2 e-Bike Flashes Indian Motorcycle FTR Flat-Track Style

Indian Motorcycle and Super73 have joined forces to create the eFTR Hooligan 1.2 electric bicycle. The e-bike blends the Super73-S2 e-bike platform with style inspired by Indian’s flat-track-style FTR gas motorcycle. The bike sports the Indian logo and its trademark black and red colors, and is engineered for recreational sport and urban transportation riding. Indian parent company Polaris says riders don’t need a motorcycle endorsement to operate it.

A Motorcycle-Like Presence

The eFTR Hooligan 1.2’s motorcycle-themed look and feel comes alive through its moto-style handlebars, tough-looking 20-inch wheels and tires, and gold drive chain. The e-bike is built on an aluminum chassis, and has disc brakes, an LED headlight, and a wind deflector inspired by the FTR’s. Indian did away with front and rear fenders, and relocated the e-bike’s 960-watt-hour removable battery to improve bike balance.

The eFTR Hooligan 1.2’s battery gives you a range of more than 40 miles (64 kilometers) at 20 mph (32 km/h) in throttle-only operation. This increases to over 75 miles if using the ECO pedal assist mode (aka “pedaling”), although mileage will vary depending on rider weight, speed, wind, and other conditions. You can select from four riding modes in Super73’s mobile app. These include an Off-Road Mode that delivers a maximum of 2,000 watts and reaches up to 28 mph (45 km/h).

Based in Orange County, California, Super73 is an “American lifestyle adventure brand” that also sells accessories, apparel, and other items influenced by motorcycle culture. The Super73-SR is part of the company’s S-Series, which also includes the Super73-S1. Super73 also produces R- and Z-Series e-bike lines.

The FTR is part of Indian’s standard motorcycle lineup and is designed for cruising, commuting, mountain road, and other riding styles. FTR configurations include the S, R Carbon, and Rally. The premium street bike has minimalist styling, aggressive lines, and a track-inspired street-ready stance. It’s equipped with a 1,203-cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine, an adjustable suspension, and 17-inch wheels, and provides Sport, Standard, and Rain street-level tuning modes.
