Harley-Davidson Updates Road Glide, Glide Special & Glide Limited Motorcycles For 2022

Harley-Davidson recently unveiled a significant portion of its motorcycle lineup for 2022 across the sports, adventure touring, cruiser, grand American touring, and trike categories. The manufacturer will detail additional models for 2022, including limited-production ones from its Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations branch, at a “Further. Faster.” world premier event on January 26th. In the meantime, here’s a look at what’s on tap for the Harley-Davidson Road Glide, Road Glide Special, and Road Glide Limited models from the company’s grand American touring lineup for 2022.

Grand American Touring Bikes

All Harley-Davidson grand American touring bikes will come equipped with a Milwaukee-Eight V-Twin engine for 2022. All will also feature emulsion technology rear shock absorbers with single-knob adjustment that riders can pre-load to their preferred ride setting. Also included are 49-millimeter forks with dual-bending valve suspension technology and Reflex linked Brembo brakes with anti-lock braking system (ABS). An optional Cornering Ride Safety Enhancement package includes electronically linked brakes, cornering ABS, cornering traction control with standard and rain modes, drag torque slip control, vehicle hold control, and tire pressure monitoring.

Road Glide

The Road Glide for 2022 features a frame-mounted aerodynamic shark nose fairing fitted with two Daymaker LED headlamps. The bike’s Milwaukee-Eight 107 power plant includes an electronic sequential port fuel injection (ESPFI) system, and is paired with a six-speed cruise drive transmission. Available in Vivid Black, Reef Blue, and White Sand Pearl color options, the Road Glide also features a Boom! Box 4.3 infotainment system with touchscreen and communication options.

Road Glide Special

The Road Glide Special also features a frame-mounted aerodynamic shark nose fairing, but the bike is available in 10 color options, including a couple brand-new two-tone paint schemes. The Road Glide Special also offers a choice of a blacked-out or bright chrome finish. In addition to a Milwaukee-Eight 114 power plant, the Road Glide Special is equipped with a high-performance Ventilator air cleaner with washable filter element and new low-profile engine guard.

Road Glide Limited

The Road Glide Limited’s frame-mounted fairing features triple-split stream vents that Harley-Davidson says limit rider head buffeting. Available in six color options, the Road Glide Limited includes a Twin Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, a passenger seat with backrest, floorboards, a Tour-Pak luggage carrier, heated hand grips, and Slicer II custom wheels.
