Harley-Davidson Announces Quartet Of Limited-Edition CVO Motorcycles
Harley-Davidson recently announced four 2022 models from its limited-production Custom Vehicle Operations, or CVO line. The CVO Street Glide, Road Glide, Road Glide Limited, and Tri Glide models all come with new decorative insert finishes and paint options for the 2022 model year.
CVO Motorcycles
CVO bikes and trikes feature hand-painted designs by Harley-Davidson partner Gunslinger, along with features not found on any other production motorcycle. Each is based on a Milwaukee-Eight 117-cubic-inch (1,917-cc) engine, Harley’s most powerful factory-installed motor. The Milwaukee-Eight 117 produces 126 pounds-foot (171 newton-meters) of torque at 3,750 rpm in the CVO Street Glide and Road Glide, and 125 lbf-ft (170 N-m) at 3,500 rpm in the CVO Road Glide Limited and CVO Tri Glide. Its exhaust is 50 state-compliant.
Other CVO motorcycle features include a custom Rockford Fosgate sound system and a Boom! Box GTS infotainment system. CVO models also come with a Boom! Audio 30K Bluetooth helmet headset. The headset can automatically connect wirelessly to other riders via the Mesh Intercom Network protocol. In private mode, the headset can stay in touch with up to 16 riders up to 5 miles (8 kilometers) away, while public mode supports nearly any number of riders. Harley-Davidson says the public mode eliminates lost group connections when a rider travels out of range.
CVO bikes also include Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson. This suite of technologies includes linked braking, anti-lock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, the Drag-Torque Slip Control System, and Vehicle Hold Control.
New Features
The 2022 CVO lineup starts with the CVO Street Glide, a bagger with a batwing fairing and a Daymaker Adaptive LED Headlamp. The headlight brings additional LED corner lights to bear as the rider leans into a turn. New paint options for 2022 include a solid Blue Steel hue with Scorched Chrome finishes for the powertrain covers and elsewhere, Hightail Yellow Pearl and Black Hole with Lightning Silver Two-Tone and Bright Chrome finishes, and Envious Green with Black Hole Fade with Flame Pattern and Gloss Black finishes.
The CVO Road Glide is a touring bike with twin LED headlamps, a frame-mounted shark nose fairing, and an exclusive 21-inch (533-millimeter) front wheel with laced spokes. It features heated grips and the same paint color and finish options as the CVO Street Glide.
The Road Glide Limited version from CVO comes with a heated seat with dual-zone rider and passenger control, as well as Tomahawk custom wheels. Its color scheme options include Wicked Orange Pearl and Black Hole or Hightail Yellow Pearl and Black Hole—both with Lightning Silver Two-Tone and Bright Chrome finishes—along with Dante’s Red with Dante’s Black Sunglo Fade Flame Pattern and Gloss Black finishes.
Finally, the three-wheeled model of the CVO family, the Tri Glide, is equipped with Tomahawk Contrast Cut cast-aluminum wheels. Like other CVO models, it comes with various matching Kahuna Collection components such as rider and passenger boards and heated grips. For 2022 it comes in Dante’s Red with Dante’s Black Sunglo Fade Flame Pattern and Bright Chrome finishes.
