2022 Kawasaki KLX 230 Built For The Trail & Street

Kawasaki is bringing the KLX 230 dual-sport motorcycle series back for 2022 with three models: the base KLX 230, the KLX 230 S, and the special-edition KLX 230 SE. All 2022 KLX 230 motorcycles are powered by a four-stroke, 233-cc engine and built on a high-tensile steel perimeter frame, which were designed together to promote agility and weight savings, according to Kawasaki. The motorcycle’s dual-sport capability is enhanced by a long-travel Uni-Trak rear suspension, petal disc brakes, and full-size aluminum wheels.

Common Features

With electric start and fuel injection, the 2022 KLX 230 is able to start and run in all kinds of altitudes and air temperatures. Kawasaki equips it with a six-speed transmission, providing riders with enough of a range for trail riding and fast cruising options on the highway. The petal disc brakes (available with dual-purpose ABS on some models) provide reliable stopping on both the trail and low-friction surfaces. The motorcycle’s large headlamp provides bright illumination at night.

New On The KLX 230 S

The two-stage front suspension on the KLX 230 S is shorter than previous generations at 6.2 inches (15.7 centimeters) of travel, and Kawasaki also shortened the dual-stage springs to provide riders with a firmer spring rate. Seat height on the 2022 KLX 230 S has been lowered by 2.2 in. (5.6 cm), moving from 34.8 to 32.7 in. (88.4 to 83 cm), thanks in part to reductions in the rear suspension travel, rated at 6.6 in. (16.8 cm). Kawasaki offers the KLX 230 S in both ABS and non-ABS versions.

New On The KLX 230 SE

Kawasaki redesigned the SE model with off-road enhancements in the form of some new accessories, including new hand guards, a tapered handlebar, a new skid plate, and improved side frame covers. The 2022 KLX 230 SE also receives some style upgrades, including the 2022 special edition colors and graphics with choices including Firecracker Red and Oriental Blue, as well as new black anodized rims to match the black hand guards and side frame covers.
