Kubota Launches ‘Tougher, More Aggressive’ RTV520 Utility Vehicle

Kubota has debuted its new RTV520 midsize utility vehicle, an upgrade over its RTV500 UTV. The gasoline-powered, 17.4-horsepower (13-kilowatt) RTV520 delivers agile handling, strong performance, and higher levels of comfort and aesthetics, Kubota says. The new UTV will be available this month at Kubota dealerships.

“The RTV520 is the perfect utility vehicle for anyone who needs to get work done on their mid- to large-sized property and for commercial operators who need a reliable, quality utility vehicle on the jobsite,” says Kubota Senior Product Manager for Utility Vehicles, Jacob Mandoza. “The RTV520 is easy to operate with confidence, offers a quiet and comfortable ride, and provides durability at a value price point.”

Easy To Drive

Kubota will offer the new RTV520 in general-purpose and deluxe configurations with an optional cab. Drivers of any skill level will appreciate its single-pedal operation and 30% softer seat, the company says.

The manufacturer improved the RTV520’s rear suspension with a five-link system. The UTV features underbody protection as well as a screen to catch mud and grass before it can clog the radiator.

Smooth Power, High Traction

The RTV520 is just 54.7 inches (1,390 millimeters) wide, and it has a turning diameter of just 21.7 feet (6.6 meters). The vehicle is 105 in. (2,670 mm) in overall length and 74 in. (1,880 mm) in height.

Top speed for the new UTV is 24.9 mph (40 km/h). Four-wheel drive and a differential lock come standard. The tough RTV520 can tow up to 1,168 lbs (530 kg), and its cargo bed can hold 440 lbs (200 kg).

Powering the new UTV is a 31.4-cc, two-cylinder gasoline engine with liquid cooling. Electronic fuel injection provides stable acceleration and easier start-ups in cold weather. The motor’s 360-degree crankshaft and twin axis balancers reduce vibration and noise. The RTV520’s transmission is a variable hydrostatic (VHT) design with no belt to break or replace.
