Indian Motorcycle 2021 Lineup Features New Vintage Dark Horse & Roadmaster Limited Models
Polaris recently announced details concerning its Indian Motorcycle brand’s 2021 model year, noting numerous technology enhancements, new accessory options, and two new bikes. The new models are the Vintage Dark Horse cruiser, which Polaris says combines “classic, iconic styling with mean, blacked-out attitude,” and the Roadmaster Limited, featuring chrome finishes, an open front fender, slammed saddlebags, and modern fairing design. The 2021 lineup also includes new accessories for Scout models and technology implementations across the entire lineup. The 2021 Thunderstroke and Scout models are reportedly now at dealerships, and 2021 Challenger models will ship in October.
“A Mean Attitude”
The new Vintage Dark Horse is aimed at riders seeking “timeless style with a mean attitude,” says Polaris, pointing to the bike’s black leather bags and “fully blacked-out styling.” The Roadmaster Limited, meanwhile, joins a restyled Roadmaster Dark Horse for 2021 that also features a fully blacked-out finish. All 2021 Roadmasters use an air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 engine and come standard with Apple CarPlay along with a new water-resistant ClimaCommand Rogue heated/cooled seat with Ride Command control over heat and cooling adjustments. CarPlay is also standard for 2021 Chieftain and Challenger models equipped with the Ride Command infotainment system.
New Lights, Paint, Grips & More
Indian is also making a new Pathfinder Adaptive LED Headlight available as an upgrade for most 2015 to 2021 Thunderstroke models. The light senses a bike’s lean angle and activates “individual LED projector beams to provide unprecedented visibility.” Buyers can complement this with Pathfinder S LED Driving lights, which Indian is making available with most 2021 Chieftain, Roadmaster, and Challenger models. The 2021 Scout lineup is receiving new paint options, heated grips for all 2017 to 2021 models, and a color-matched quick-release fairing with 2-inch windshield. The 2021 Challenger gains 17 gallons of storage space via a lockable quick-release trunk, and Challenger and Thunderstroke models feature a new low-profile quick release padded sissy bar with low-profile passenger pad option, taller windshield options, passenger back rest and floorboards, and more.
