Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire Heading To The Geneva International Motor Show

Harley-Davidson is following up the recent appearance of its upcoming LiveWire electric motorcycle at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with a trip to Switzerland, where the bike will appear at the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) running March 7 to March 17.

Harley-Davidson’s Electric Vision

In addition to announcing the LiveWire’s pre-order availability for $29,799 at CES, the company unveiled two more electrified two-wheel vehicle concepts, one designed for city riding and one for both on- and off-road use. Harley-Davidson provided more information on the next steps it intends to take in the development of its electric vehicles on March 5; the two additional concept vehicles will also appear at GIMS, as will “a new prototype Harley-Davidson-branded two-wheeled electric bike for kids.”

Harley-Davidson says it’s “changing the conversation” in the two-wheeled electric space by offering a different proposition that “goes beyond range and battery life.” With its entire portfolio, the company is “focused on and poised to deliver high-quality electric vehicles to the most extensive motorcycle dealer network equipped with DC fast chargers.”

Start Your (Electric) Engines

LiveWire production units are to begin shipping this fall in North America and Western Europe. The bike will offer a 140-mile (225-kilometer) city range or a range of 88 miles (142 km) of “combined stop-and-go and highway range), and owners can charge it overnight via standard electric outlets or get a 100% charge in an hour using Level 3 DC Fast Charge stations. The permanent magnet electric motor situated low in the bike’s frame will power the LiveWire from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds.
