Kawasaki’s Team 38 Taking Part In Bonneville Speed Week With Ninja H2 Motorcycle
Kawasaki’s Team 38 racing team is competing with a new Ninja H2 motorcycle at Bonneville Speed Week, which is taking place at the Bonneville Salt Flats International Speedway in Wendover, Utah, from August 11-17. The team hopes to set a record at the event two years after its first attempt with a Ninja H2R.
History Of Team 38
Team 38 consists of a group of Japanese Kawasaki employees who want to keep the company’s storied history of racing success alive in the modern era. Many of the employees on the team come from the Kawasaki Experimental Technology and Engineering department, and Team 38 is based in the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Akashi Works Plant in Japan. Kawasaki first made a splash in Bonneville when it set 14 American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) speed records in 1967; this was itself a record for the most records set by one manufacturer in the same year.
